Wings of the Butterfly

The morning carried a faint, almost familiar scent. Lying awake and staring at the ceiling, she barely noticed it. But the wolf certainly smelled it; even asleep, he tossed and growled, his hair bristled, and his claws unconsciously ripped the sheets.

Thus it begins: a stranger arrives to challenge the wolf, and Nicole begins to believe she can leave him. Nicole: the beautiful and reticent butterfly, whose dreams have been shaped and beaten into the dreams of the wolf.
