Arthur Machen was fascinated by Wentwood, looming to the east of his childhood home in Llanddewi Fach Rectory near Caerleon, and he used the forest and its surrounding countryside as the setting for some of his most terrifying fiction including The Great God Pan and The White People. Taking inspiration from Machen's writing and from the landscape of his early life, Wentwood Tales is a new series of individually published limited edition short stories by a number of different authors.
