A time traveler from the 20th century is in a desperate race against time across 11th century England in an attempt to change the course of history. But which history? And which 20th century? With chilling overtones of the environmental crisis facing us today, but incorporating the latest scientific thinking about the Multiverse, John Gribbin offers a unique blend of real science and adventure fiction.

Old fashioned hard Sf at its best all the science in the story is real, even the time travel. It just hasn't happened yet - or has it?

John Gribbin is best known as "the master of popular science writing" (Sunday Times), with over a hundred non-fiction books to his credit. But his science fiction output, which includes The Sixth Winter, Innervisions andDouble Planet, has also received critical acclaim. He has returned to writing Sf in 2009 after a gap of more than ten years, bringing to his new works of fiction much of the science that is making headlines in the 21st century.

Dr John Gribbin is a Visiting Fellow in Astronomy at the University of Sussex, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and a long time fan of Buddy Holly. His next novel, The Alice Encounter, will appear from PS in 2010.
