Contains:

"Monsters Among Us: An Introduction to the World of Jack Ketchum" by Larry Roberts. An insightful essay on major themes Jack Ketchum frequently uses in his literature. Especially of note to those less familiar with Ketchum's work, this piece serves as a wonderful introduction to his literary world and how it reflects the darker aspects of the lives we lead.
Larry Roberts is the owner/operator of Bloodletting Press, a noted publisher of such contemporary horror authors as Douglas Clegg, Ray Garton, Steve Gerlach, Brian Keene, Edward Lee, Elizabeth Massie, and Jeffrey Thomas. To the best of our knowledge, this is Larry Roberts' first critical essay undertaking.

"The Ordinary and the Otherworldly" by NGChristakos. Mostly focused on several of Jack Ketchum's short tales from Peaceable Kingdom, NGChristakos correlates a psychologically astute undertaking on the part of Ketchum--an intent to alter the 'surprise ending' into something truly shocking by mutating the reader's preconceptions.
NGChristakos is the editor of Studies in Modern Horror as well as the assistant editor of the forthcoming Lost Worlds: The Journal of Clark Ashton Smith. NGChristakos provided the annotations for the forthcoming book Alan Moore's The Courtyard (Avatar Press), which mostly concerned the influence of H.P. Lovecraft.

"Hanging Out in the Weird Wild West with Jack Ketchum" by Valarie Thorpe. A critical review of Jack Ketchum's The Crossing (Cemetery Dance). A cleanly and intelligently formed essay about the novella, several key affects and influences are discussed.
Valarie Thorpe has been involved in the review and critical study of horror fiction for several years now. She has contributed to ReallyScary.com, as well as being included in Fallen Angel Blues: A Horror.net Novella (Day Off Productions/Succubus Press) and What Walks Alone: A Creative Tribute to Shirley Jackson's The Haunting at Hill House (ed. Suzanne Donahue, Day Off Productions/Succubus Press); the later of which finds her work alongside such luminaries as Ramsey Campbell, Jack Ketchum, and Jeffrey Thomas.

You will also get:
Jack Ketchum: A Selected Bibliography by NGChristakos with Dallas Mayr (a.k.a. Jack Ketchum) that was produced and included with the first 250 copies of Studies in Modern Horror, Issue One. It is a perfect bound softcover chapbook; 5 ½ x 8 ½ size; 40pgs.
