Though known as a novelist, Powers has over the years written some powerful short stories—here are “Night Moves” and (written in collaboration with James P. Blaylock) “The Better Boy,” both finalists for the World Fantasy Award; here too is “Where They Are Hid,” previously available only in an expensive limited edition, now out of print.
