Between the years of 1999 and 2004 in an effort to increase interest in Camelot Books and of course to increase sales we produced eight chapbooks, softcovers were generally given way, hardcovers were produced and sold to cover the cost of each project.  Then we produce 7 handbound, traycased, lettered copies (with exception of the Lee title, for which we produced 2 PC copies at Lee's request) only 7 of each were produced, in the beginning 2 were used as promotion give aways, later 2 or 3 of each were ever offered to the public, the remaining four or five were given 1 each to the author, artist, we kept a copy and we sent a copy to Bill Schafer of Subterranean Press and at times Richard Chizmar at Cemetery Dance got a copy. Consequently there were only two complete sets ever created, our set and Bill's set (well as you know we've been selling Bill's stuff, so we got his set back!).

Recently one of the PC copies of Lee's book(s) came back to us because the holder actually died (I mention it because these generally don't come up unless someone dies!), it sold within a day or so for $1000!  These are rare, and in our opinion works of art each hand bound (she also made the traycases) by Judi Conant who bound many of the Cheap Street Letterpress books back in the day.

The eight titles included:

  • Father and Son by Jack Ketchum 1999
  • In the Attic by Richard Laymon 2000
  • Stay Awake by Poppy Z. Brite 2000
  • Station Two by Jack Ketchum 2001
  • Pansu by Poppy Z. Brite 2001
  • Pie and Coffee in Hollywood 2001
  • Driving, Bomb and Kill the Enemy by Edward Lee 2003
  • 100 Minutes by Ray Garton 2004

This is a rare opportunity, these books were produced 18 to 23 years ago, two of the five authors have passed on, each are probably the smallest print run of any of these author's titles, this is one of two matching sets, the other set will probably be sold by our kids when we are gone, but hopefully that won't be anytime soon!
