Locke & Key: Volume 1 Welcome to Lovecraft

Illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez

Keyhouse waits…

On a hot and indolent day in high summer, the killers arrive on the doorstep of a small cottage in northern California; before the afternoon is over, two people are dead, and for the survivors, nothing will ever be the same again.

… for them…

The remaining members of the Locke family pick up the pieces of their lives, and haul themselves across the country, hoping for a fresh start in the family’s ancestral home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. But Keyhouse is a place of secrets and shadows, a repository for a very old collection of keys, with the power to unlock the impossible.

… for Dodge…

It isn’t long before the youngest of the Locke children discovers the other secret of Keyhouse… a living echo hiding in the well, an echo that calls itself Dodge, and that wants oh so badly to be free…

… and for you…

In the Eisner-nominated Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft, collaborators Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez unlock the door to a dark world of wonder and suspense, in one of the most acclaimed graphic novels of the year.

The Subterranean Press edition of L&K includes not only the full color graphic novel, but the more than 250 page script from which it originated.

Locke & Key: Volume 2: Head Games

The three Locke children--survivors of a horrific home invasion that claimed their father--have just begun to rebuild their lives when little Bode discovers a key with an incredible power. Q: What if overcoming your fears, mastering any skill, learning any art was as simple as turning a key in a lock? A: It could cost you your life - especially if Dodge, the malevolent creature who is the Locke family's sworn enemy, gets his hands on it. Written by Hill and featuring the mind-bending art of Gabriel Rodriguez, the second installment of Locke & Key is one head-trip you won't forget.

Subterranean Press is still working with Joe to decide which scripts from Head Games will be included in the final book, and what other bonus material - perhaps another short comic entirely. Gabriel Rodriguez has already started on the endsheets exclusive to the limited edition, and they have Vincent Chong lined up to produce a dust jacket for the as well.

Locke & Key: Volume 3 Crown of Shadows

Illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez
Dust jacket by Vincent Chong

Turn the key. Unlock the door.

Unless you live in Keyhouse, in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. In that case, turn the right key, and you could wind up anywhere.

Now in possession of the Shadow Key, Dodge uses it to continue his quest for the mysterious Omega Key. The remaining members of the Locke family are still rebuilding their lives, in the wake of the devastating events that began in Welcome to Lovecraft and Headgames, but there is no key to make that rebuilding easier. Locking things away doesn't make them any safer. At Keyhouse, shadows come to life, and a giant walks.

Turn the page. Unlock the story.

Crown of Shadows, the third installment of the award-winning Locke & Key series, co-credits writer Hill and illustrator Rodriguez as “storytellers,” and it's an apt designation, shown by the seamlessness with which the text and art interact. They are one of the best storytelling teams in comics. After the completion of Crown of Shadows in 2011, both Hill and Rodriguez were nominated for Eisner awards—Best Writer (won by Hill) and Best Penciller/Inker, respectively, and the comic was nominated for Best Continuing Series.

The Subterranean Press edition of Crown of Shadows will include not only the entire graphic novel, but also the scripts for each issue.

The limited edition will include all of the scripts for the miniseries, original full-color endsheets by Gabriel Rodriguez, and a full-color dust jacket by Vincent Chong.
