Introduction: Brian Aldiss / Eric Brown
Cover Artist: Edward Miller
This two-volume, slipcased edition of this title includes a copy of I Remember Pallahaxi.
First published in 1975, Hello Summer, Goodbye is a minor classic of the SF field.
Set on a planet whose elliptical orbit creates intense summers and long, cold winters, it tells of the love between Drove and the girl Pallahaxi-Browneyes, whose affair is set against civil war and the dread approach of winter.
It's also a brilliant depiction of an alien world, with bizarre tidal effects and even stranger native creatures.
As Coney states in the Author's Note: "This is a love story, and a science-fiction story, and more besides." It's also a beautifully-written, lyrical adventure story with one of the finest closing lines in the genre.
The two-volume slipcased edition contains jacketed hardcover editions of both titles and are signed by Brian Aldiss and Edward Miller (Hello Summer, Goodbye) and Eric Brown and Edward Miller (I Remember Pallahaxi), who have provided respective introductions to the two volumes.
Limited to 200 signed and numbered deluxe slipcased hardcover copies
Lettered It is our understanding that PS Publishing sold 26 lifetime subscriptions, as a perk of that subscription the purchaser would receive a copy of the signed state of a particular book but instead of a number in the limitation line, it would contain a letter, each subscriber was assigned a letter, in all other aspects the book is identical to the "Limited" copy.
