SYNOPSIS: Michael Marshall Smith's first US chapbook! This mini-collection gathers Smith's cat-related tales, including the classics "The Man Who Drew Cats" and "Not Waving" and the brand new "They Also Serve", a rare science fiction piece. Smith also has written an introduction - his thoughts on why cats are such special creatures. Art by Patti Kaufman.

Softcover Chapbook: 350 numbered softcover chapbooks, signed by the author

Hardcover Lettered Chapbook: 15 lettered, traycased, clothbound, hand-sewn hardcovers, signed by the author and artist. Each hardcover features an original cat sketch by the author, and a lettered facsimile of the original handwritten manuscript of "The Man Who Drew Cats" is enclosed in the traycase.

A note regarding our lettered copy: The binder who created this work of art used this cloth for not only this production, but also for Subterreanean Press productions of Jim Butcher's Grave Peril.  This cloth fades very easily and every copy we have seen of both of these productions the spines of the traycases show some discoloration.  The nice thing is, when on the shelf you don't see it.  If there is a concern and you wish a picture of the traycase opened up we will be happy to send you once, but honestly i cannot get it to show up in enough detail on the webpage.

PC of Lettered State: we also have a PC copy of the lettered state.  The hardcover chapbook is the same as the one in the traycase, but it is housed in a matching slipcase.  It does not contain the extra facsimile of the original handwritten manuscript of "The Man Who Drew Cats,"  it is just a specially bound, slipcased copy of the chapbook Cat Stories.
