I say that with a bit of a lemon twist to my mouth, because there are thousands upon thousands of drink recipes and I’m pretty sure one can’t come up with anything entirely original anymore, but the shots described here are totally from my mind and not from any book . . . until now, that is, and hopefully I’ve added to some bartender’s menu.

“The three stories all mention their particular shot, but the drinks don’t necessarily have anything to do with the plots. Or do they? You’ll have to read on to find out. But the names of the shots . . . well, those might have quite a lot to do with the plots (that rhymes and I haven’t even started experimenting with the liquors yet) so again, you’ll have to read on to find out.”
