Out of work and reeling from the fallout of a busted marriage, Johnny Doyle spends most of his days drinking at the Delirium Lounge. Then one day he hears a troubling story about his ex-wife and decides to check up on her, never suspecting that he will soon be caught up in a cyclone of lies, murder, and betrayal. As usual, Johnny turns to the bottle for solace, but this time he spirals out of control as he struggles to survive and cope in a world in which suddenly there is no one he can trust and nothing is as it seems.

Note: this series of books, at least volumes 1 through 9 were bound in a very soft material "La Crema."  Unfortunately over time we have discovered that whatever is lying next to the book will leave an indentation, even such things as a sheet of paper placed between them to "protect" the binding has resulted in minor indentations at the papers edges.  Because we are not happy with how this series has weathered on our shelves, until the publisher changes the binding material we have chosen not to carry it any longer and are reducing the price of the titles we have remaining.  None are really bad, we are just not happy with them and prefer not to take the chance of them getting worse.  The print runs on these are very small, so with this lower price, even with the minor defects these are a great value and we don't expect for them to last long.
